AVERY DENNISON RBIS EMERGING BRAND COMPETITION FOR THE WGSN GLOBAL FASHION AWARDS 2015

Avery Dennison/Retail Branding and Information Solutions and Arts Thread have joined up for another competition aiming to find and promote the next new emerging fashion brand. The unique prize offered is designed to identify and develop global recognition for the next successful upcoming brand developed by an independent designer, while offering financial support from Avery Dennison to help move this designer and their emerging new Brand to the next commercial level.
The winner will also receive €12,000 towards their brand’s global development.

“Branding is about telling stories and forming powerful relationships with customers, and plays the central role in the success of every branded company. Converting hard-earned recognition on the catwalk into building a successful brand is the biggest challenge facing every designer. While seasons are fickle, branding endures, and we’re looking for someone we believe has a long future in fashion demonstrated by the vision they have for their brand.”

THE CRITERIA

To qualify for this award you must have graduated from a recognised fashion design/marketing course within the 30 months (2.5 years) preceding 30 December 2014, OR have established your brand within the 30 months (2.5 years) preceding 30 December 2014. This award is not open to current students. Designers must be working on their own independent collection and brand, entries will not be accepted from designers who are working for a brand or retailer that they do not own.

Entering the WGSN Global Fashion Awards is a very straightforward process but you are advised to invest the time to put together a compelling entry. Judges will base their decisions solely on the information provided so be sure to use the opportunity to make your case convincing.

Applicants are required to write a statement of no more than 500 words that outlines the inspiration behind your collection and the concept of your brand, explaining your target customer, target retailers, desired price points and your approach to your brand story and how you envision branding your collection and bringing your brand story to life via your marketing vision.

Prepare at least six high-resolution images or artistic renderings showing how you would like your collection and product branding to be executed detailing materials, effects, colours, finishing and treatments from your latest collection. This must include the application of your brand concept on your collection that includes how you would envision branding your collection for retail that would include logos, trim, labels, hangtags, packaging, merchandising/display that should clearly tell your brand story.

Include your company/brand logo (if appropriate) and further supporting materials such as look books, press cuttings and testimonials will also be accepted and are encouraged.

You can revisit your entry to edit and add information at any point before submitting but
all entries must be submitted before the DEADLINE OF 6 DECEMBER 2014.

If your entry has been successfully shortlisted, you will be informed at the end of January 2015
Winners will not be revealed until the awards ceremony on 14 May 2015.
